Stemsplitacular: six-stem song separation built for clarity
Stemsplitacular is a focused song-separation product created by Syncade Systems. It turns one source track into six useful outputs—vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other—then gives each result a clear playback lane and practical download options.
The design brief was simple: make a technically demanding audio process feel obvious to a creator using it for the first time.
The problem
A clear route through a demanding process.
Stem separation can quickly become a confusing experience. Upload states, processing queues, account access, usage credits, multiple audio players and download formats all compete for attention. A creator should not need to understand the underlying model or navigate a full production suite simply to isolate parts of a song.
The product therefore needed to communicate three things at every stage: what the user should do next, what the split will produce, and where the user’s result and balance stand.
The product decision
A compact two-stage journey.
The first screen establishes the source audio, account and available split balance. The result screen presents six separate playback lanes, allowing the user to compare parts, mute selected stems, hear combinations and prepare individual or complete downloads.
The interface keeps the operation visible without trying to imitate an entire digital audio workstation. It is a dedicated separation console, not a crowded studio.
Outputs and controls
Six useful stems, ready to work with.
A completed split provides vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other. The result view supports seekable playback, individual muting, combined listening and WAV, MP3 or FLAC output preparation.
The surrounding account and credit system keeps the cost of starting another split visible before a new job enters processing.
Design direction
A focused studio atmosphere.
The visual system uses a dark, controlled studio atmosphere with a bright product mark and clearly separated interaction zones. The aim is not decorative complexity. It is confidence: one source track enters, six useful stems return, and the important controls remain close.
